In Mountain Goats, players strive to move their goats to the top of six different mountains, where they can score points as long as they maintain their position. While sharing spaces with other goats on the ascent is allowed, only one goat can claim the peak of each mountain. If an opponent's goat reaches the summit first, it will knock yours off, forcing you to restart your journey.
This game is all about timing. You must not only focus on reaching the mountain tops but also ensure you do so when no one else can displace you. Keep a close watch on your opponents as you strategize to maximize your own score while preventing others from gaining too many points.
While there’s a fun element of knocking each other off the mountains, it’s balanced so it never feels overly harsh. You can only displace goats in scoring positions, and setbacks are minimal, making it a natural part of the game’s dynamic.
