Product Type Specialist
About the role
We’re seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at Good Games as a full time Product Type Specialist! In this versatile role, you’ll be at the forefront of analyzing trends and optimizing stock in your field of expertise across Good Games stores. This role requires attention to detail and higher level analytical skills.

As a Product Type Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
Product knowledge and analysis:
- Maintain in-depth product knowledge in your allocated product type area, as well as general knowledge of other products sold at Good Games.
- Evaluate and analyze product performance for all company stores to maintain continuous improvement.
- Identify market trends for pricing and reprice items according to company policy.
- Create dynamic reports to help the company and leadership team make better decisions.
- Train staff in the use of stock control systems and maintain regular training workshops.
Purchasing and inventory:
- Collaborate with suppliers and adhere to directives to track inventory and ensure seamless sales operations.
- Place orders with suppliers through the central buy process to ensure consistency in purchasing practices, aligning with business requirements.
- Build relevant relationships and forecast orders from overseas suppliers and understand importing implications.
- Collaborate on design and forecast orders for manufacturing items.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits of company stores to ensure accuracy.
- Identify and evaluate overstocks, devising plans to reduce excess inventory.
- Oversee the running the Good Games Second Auction house
- Maintain minimum stock levels for all corporate stores
- Book shipping for company needs.
- Order and replenish stock for Vending Machines and oversee maintenance.
Merchandising:
- Collaborate with the merchandising team to create and maintain the accuracy of the relevant product categories.
- Advise and optimize inventory display at company stores including site visits to main excellence.
Skill & experience
- A strongly self-motivated individual with a desire to grow with our business.
- Works well in a team.
- Experience in stock control or product management systems.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel and Google Sheets)
- Experience in the tabletop industry is preferred.
- A deep understanding of your area of expertise Trading Card Games, Miniature Gaming, Board Games etc. The more expertise the better.
- Have superior communication and problem solving skills, along with a good eye for detail.
- You have solid computer skills and are generally technical savvy.
- You feel it is important that you enjoy your work.
- You can fly…ok, we just wanted to see if you were paying attention.

Pay is dependent on the level of skill and experience of the appointed staff member. A new entrant to this line of work can expect to be appointed as an Award-based employee, paid Level 3-4 under the Retail Award, which is $27.58 - $28.12 per hour. Experienced applicants may be offered a higher salary, upon consideration by senior management.
