Roleplaying Games have come a long way since Gygax first penned Dungeons & Dragons. While the epic, sword and sorcery adventure game retains its throne as king of the genre, recent years have seen innovative exploration in the medium.

In the last five years, we've seen a massive growth in the popularity of of tabletop gaming. The globalisation of shows like Game of Thrones turned people toward the latest edition of Dungeons & Dragons, while Wil Wheaton's Tabletop introduced gaming to a whole new generation.

There are many ways to enjoy the Dungeons & Dragons hobby, but at GenCon, Dwarven Forge showcased the pure joy of the game- and of roleplaying in general-, that proves how D&D has managed to sink its claws into our imagination and never let go.
