Here’s how you can become the Good Games Magic Champion and win your way to any Grand Prix event in the world:

Conquer your store

  • Every match you win in a paid, sanctioned event at a Good Games store will earn you 3 player points at that store, with a draw getting you 1 point.. Score 100 points between Jan 1 and July 31, or place highly in a store’s Last Chance Qualifier and you will be able to participate in that store’s Store Championship event.
  • Store Championship events are Modern or Standard (a list of championship events will appear on this page soon), with no entry fee. The winner will win free entry to FNM and to one prerelease event per set in that store for year! The top four players in a Store Championship will all be invited to the State Championship.

Exceptions

To welcome our newest stores to the Good Games family we have a few exceptions to the above points:

  • Bella Vista - 50 points required for players to enter Store Championships.
  • The Games Capital - 50 points required for players to enter Store Championships.
  • Kallangur - 40 points required for players to enter Store Championships.

Conquer your state

  • The top 4 players from each store are invited to the State Championship, hosted by one store in each state in September. This will be a FREE, invite-only constructed Standard tournament. All players participating in a State Championship will receive an exclusive playmat by superstar artist Ryan Yee!
  • The top 3/2/1 players (depending on number of stores in the state) will win flights, entry and accommodation to PAX AUS in November, where the finals will be held. The remaining players in the top 8/4 as appropriate will split a prize pool of 72 boosters.

Conquer the world

  • 2 NSW players, 2 QLD players, 1 Vic Player, 1 WA player, 1 Tasmanian player and 1 Indianapolitan player will face off in the Magic Championship Finals. A level 2 judge will run the event, which will be run at PAXAUS.
  • 1st place receives a return flight, entry and accommodation to a Magic Grand Prix of their choice, anywhere in the world in 2018 (at least one month’s notice must be given) and a trophy to keep.
  • 2nd $AU2000 cash
  • 3rd-4th $AU1000 cash
  • 5th-8th $AU500 cash
