$5,000 Magic/YuGiOh Championships
Posted on 27 Nov 2009In 2010 Good Games will be running an Organised Play program for Magic the Gathering and Yugioh! There will be a $5000 prize pool for each game and will be a State based tournament with the winners of each fighting it out for the title of Good Games Champion!
How do I qualify for the Championships?
Both Magic the Gathering and Yugioh! will have a series of qualifying events throughout 2010 at all of our stores. Each store will be running one qualifying event for each game per month. The players who finish in the Top 3 of each of these events will qualify for the Championship event in their State.
Players are also able to win one Bye (Round Win) up to a maximum of three by winning a qualifying event.
NSW/ACT Championships qualifying stores – Sydney, Burwood, Gosford, Wollongong, Morriset and Canberra.
VIC Championships qualifying stores – Melbourne, Ballarat and Geelong.
Qualifying events will be posted on www.goodgames.com.au under the events for each store. Qualifying events will have an entry fee depending on format while the Championship event will be free.
The Friday before each Championship event there will be a Last Chance Qualifier at Good Games Sydney and Good Games Melbourne with the Top 4 players qualifying for each game.
What are the prizes?
Prizes for each State Championship per game are as below:
1st: $500 (Play off against other State winner)
2nd: $400
3rd-4th: $150
5th-8th: $100
9th-16th: $50
Winner of each States will play off for below prize money
1st: $750
2nd: $250
Giving the overall winner of each game $1250 in cash prizes!
When are where are the Championships held?
Dates for States Magic the Gathering: November 6th and 7th
Format: Day 1 Constructed Type 2 with Day 2 Top 8 Constucted Type 2 Playoff

Format: Day 1 Constructed with Day 2 Top 8 Constructed Playoff
